Nong Nooch garden is a botanical garden and orchid farm in Pattaya, Chonburi Thailand. The area of the botanical garden is about 150 rai (about 60 acres).

Nong Nooch tropical garden, located atop the south-east side of Huay Yai mountain (120 meters above sea level), the garden features more than 2,000 species of plants and flowers. Opened in 1984, Nong Nooch Garden was awarded the UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Award for Culture Heritage Conservation in 2006.

Nong Nooch Garden was founded in 1982 by Thaweesak Voralaksana, who named it after his daughter Nong Nooch. It covers an area of and is set at the top of Huay Yai mountain. The garden is located on a small tributary of the Pattaya River and contains a wide variety of plant species, many of which are indigenous to Nong Nooch Village Pattaya Thailand.

There are more than 1,000 species of plants in the garden including over 100 orchids and 400 other species of flowers.

The most popular attractions are the butterflies which can be viewed year-round, as well as at least 70 different kinds of birds, including hornbills and kingfishers.

Nong Nooch Garden was established in 1983 by the late HRH Princess Srinagarindra, who is better known as Mom Luang Por Poon. It is located at Pattaya-Chonburi Road (Highway 34), between Bangkok and Chonburi.

The park has four lakes of varying sizes, all with floating gardens. The largest lake contains fish and water lilies.

Another lake features a koi pond and an island with a statue of the mythical Nong Nooch, who gave her name to the garden. The statue has a footbridge leading to it from the mainland.

In addition to plants and flowers, there are animals such as deer, monkeys, ducks, and other birds. There is also a children’s playground with swings and slides.

  • The Medicinal Herb Garden – The Medicinal Herb Garden is home to over 50 species of medicinal herbs used in Thai cooking. Visitors can learn about the different uses of each herb through a self-guided tour.
  • Aquatic Gardens – Nong Nooch Garden features two aquariums filled with rare and exotic aquatic life from Thailand. Visitors can learn about the plants and animals in these aquariums through a self-guided tour.
  • Nong Nooch Tropical Garden – The Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is home to an array of tropical flowers, plants, and trees that are native to Southeast Asia.
  • The Butterfly Pavilion – The Butterfly Pavilion features over 200 species of butterflies from around the world. It is one of the largest butterfly pavilions in the world and offers visitors the opportunity to interact with the butterflies and learn about their conservation.
  • Cultural Village – The Cultural Village features Thai culture through exhibits, performances, and a variety of restaurants and shops.

Getting There – Nong Nooch Village Pattaya:

From Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport take Highway 4 south towards Pattaya for approximately an hour. Nong Nooch is located just past Pattaya on Highway 362.
